Facial Vessel Reduction

Subtle Enhancement Med Spa’s Facial Vessel Reduction services include laser therapy for prominent facial blood vessels, sometimes referred to as spider veins or broken capillaries, the flushing and redness of rosacea, spider and cherry angiomas, and other benign blood vessel-related lesions. Most people lump these things together erroneously as acne. Our laser helps significantly improve the appearance of people with mild to moderate acne and is the preferred method of many.

Many patients have small red blood vessels on the face, commonly around the nose. The vessels are likely the results of sun exposure. These skin lesions can be easily removed with lasers, which target hemoglobin present in red blood cells. Multiple treatment sessions may be needed to remove unwanted redness from the face. Typically patients will have mild redness after treatment and some mild swelling – usually the “downtime” from this procedure is quite temporary and minimal.

What does treatment feel like?
Facial Vessel Reduction services offered by Subtle Enhancement Med Spa.Facial vessel reduction treatment is relatively fast and easy to perform. Patients usually tolerate the treatment quite well and may feel a light snapping of the skin during treatment similar to the snap of a small rubberband. A topical anesthetic, or skin numbing cream may be used to minimize any pain.

How long does the treatment take?
Treatments typically take 10-30 minutes to perform.

How many treatments will I need?
The total number of treatments is somewhat variable, and depends on the nature of the condition. However, most people require from 3 to 5 treatments for optimal results.

What about Rosacea?
Rosacea is a condition characterized by redness (flushing) in the central portions of the face (cheeks, chin, and nose). Intense pulsed light and laser treatments are extremely effective at eliminating visible blood vessels, reducing flushing, and minimizing general background ruddiness. Most patients require 2 to 4 sessions to obtain optimal results.

What about Port Wine Stains and Hemangiomas?
Congenital vascular neoplasms, such as port wine stains and hemangiomas, can often be quite dysfiguring and progressive. However, even smaller lesions can be of concern to patients. Pulsed dye lasers are extremely effective in treating these types of lesions. Most patients will require repeated sessions.

Are there risks/side effects associated with the procedure?

Most patients will experience mild redness after treatment and may have some mild swelling as well. Icing the skin after treatment reduces the redness and swelling relatively fast. Exact post-care instructions are reviewed immediately following your treatment session.

Are there restrictions after the treatment?
It is recommended that you avoid vigorous activities for the first 24 hours after treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun.
